I’ve been posting so many freebies recently that I thought it was about time that I showed you what else I’ve been doing. As I mentioned, I’ve been doing a lot of commissions, and here is an example (or two)
The woman who commissioned these wanted to make a wall hanging featuring animals and plants that were significant to her family. The idea was to have two long slim designs down either side of the hanging, with other smaller designs between them. For the outer pieces, she wanted two designs that were 24 inches (600 mm) long, and of course that was far too long for my machine to do as a single design. So it all had to be pieced. I’ve rather lost track of how many designs went into these borders, but when I count everything up, it was something like12 separate designs for each border. And believe me, it took a LOT of effort to be sure that everything was in just the right place!
So here they are!

oh my gosh, those are huge and beautiful. You are incredible to pull that off so well. Thank you for sharing.
Whow, how wonderful!! I know, how much work and discipline this must be!
After weeks of hard work with students in an international camp, I`m looking forward to a sunny weekend with family und embto roidery machine.
Your wonderful bugs are in my mind…and on the USB stick to struggle out.
I wish you a lot of sun and time to recover!! Lots of good vibes from me!!
Those designs are beautiful. I am sure it took lots of your time and concentration.
Congratulations on your hard work!!!
Thanks Janice, it certainly did! (take a lot of time and concentration) But it was a lot of fun as well
These are gorgeous! I’m sure the client is thrilled with them. Thanks for sharing pictures of them so we can enjoy them, too!
It’s always a pleasure to see your textile works of art! I really enjoy the combination of the clear and almost graphic structure of the complete design on the one hand, and the rich details of the particular flowers, leaves, bugs and butterflies on the other. I like the chosen colours of the second border very much. Thank you for showing!
Lovely, as always! What were the small designs between these outer panels? And could you tell us some of the flowers’ names – they may be native there, and not here – I see some that look familiar, but not others. (Of course, I’m no Master Gardener, either!) I agree with Mirjam – the deep, rich colors of the second panel are so attractive!
