Now this one really is from the dim and distant past. I did it years ago – so long ago that I can't remember just why I did it or what I meant to do with it. It's not really like my usual stuff – less colourful, more abstract – but it might come in handy if you do a lot of embroidery on soft furnishings and things like that. There's no need for a worksheet for this – all there is to know is that it's for the 4×4 inch (100 x 100 mm) hoop, it has just one colour and it has 7188 stitches (that is, 7188 stitches for just one)

Hi Mia, I love this design! Thank you so much! I can see combining it in several different ways for continuous borders or other designs. I can imagine it stitched out in variegated and metallic threads for fun or especially elegant looks.

Boring? I think not! It’s elegant, and I agree with the others about the versatility. The idea of using variegated thread is very appealing too. First, though, I want to try it tone-on-tone on linen napkin corners – either white or cream, maybe even taupe. Thanks for yet another lovely design from your bottomless treasure chest!
