Well, I'm still working on those commissions so I've raided the old files for a freebie for February, and came up with a couple which might do. They date from the dim-and-distant past, at a time when I was experimenting with designs from different cultures. These little blue designs were inspired by old Chinese plates which explain their round shapes. They're really very simple designs, but none the worse for that, and they're both for the 4×4 inch (100 mm x 100 mm) hoop

I hope you are all well – here in the Grampian Highlands we are shortly expecting another 3 feet of snow to be dumped on top of the 4 feet that we already have, so we wouldn't be going anywhere even if Covid wasn't still lurking in the shadows…

Thanks Mia. As always they are lovely. Especially cheerful for these winter days. Have been thinking to write, but have been attempting some early Spring cleaning and my millions of projects need organization in sewing room. Sorry you are snowed in. We haven’t had much snow, lots of threats, but it has bypassed us for the most part, probably 6″ at most, and it goes quickly. today sunny, but cold. It has been below 32 degrees for over a month.I’ll send you a pix of Riley’s quilt that I finally finished. Her birthday is May 19 and I’m hoping to drive it down then. I’m hoping to have gotten my covid vaccine by then,,,,,,,but progress is slow. No word on it here yet. Take care and write when you have a free moment. Cheers.

Beautiful! I love the curving style of the tree and its blooms. You always arrange all the components of a design so perfectly…no odd pieces to stick up or otherwise ruin the symmetry. The bowl shows that talent so beautifully.- how do you do it?? Thank you again for sharing with us!
These would make gorgeous coasters at this size, but only if I have some of the wooden ones with glass inserts to protect the designs!
Thank you again for your beautiful designs. I looked up Grampian Highlands on the internet what a beautiful country side. But all that snow! Is there any way when you have time you could post a picture I would love to see the area that you live in. Marge’s idea of the coasters is a very good one.

Here in Lawrence, Kansas we haven’t had but a few inches of snow, but we’re in for a very cold stretch with highs only in the teens. Perfect weather for sewing and crafting!
