The Accidental Embroiderer

Back again – I hope! With a couple of freebies…

Well, I think I’m on the mend at last – at any rate I can get to the embroidery machine to stitch things out, which is an advance on how things were just a few weeks ago! Anyway, by way of apology for my long absence, here are a couple of floral freebies. They’re not complicated but might be useful on things like quilt squares

Both are for the 4 inch x 4 inch (100 mm x 100 mm) hoop. In the photos and in the .pes files, they’re done with backgrounds of appliqueed fabric, but the applique isn’t strictly necessary. You could leave it out if you prefer, and just use your main fabric as the background. If that’s what you want to do, skip the applique steps, which are the first three “colours” of the files

  1. Thank you Mia for the lovely flower designs! I am glad to hear that you are able to use your embroidery machine again, and that you are feeling better. These designs would also make some awesome patches.

  2. The flowers are very pretty and so easily adaptable to whatever colors you want. Thanks for making them this way, So many choices will make it fun to play with.

  3. Thank goodness you are on the mend, Mia. Both hubby and I are facing some health issues lately, also, so we sympathize with you! Thank you for the lovely flowers, but do take good care of yourself.

  4. Thank you for the flowers, Mia. I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better and back to using your machine. I imagine the wait was frustrating, but it’s important to let your injuries mend. Do take care of yourself! You don’t want to become theaccident-proneembroiderer.typepad.com, do you? 😉

  5. Sometimes this happens with your designs.
I can open #1 but #2 says unrecoginized file format. Both are .pes v.6. Any advice?

  6. It’s great to get the pretty flowers, but even better to see that you are well enough to be making and sharing them. Godspeed, my dear! Your embroider is not accidental, it is true talent.

  7. Thank you for the beautiful flower designs. It is gratifying that you are feeling better. Once you can be creative again, the body is helped a lot.
