The Accidental Embroiderer

On with the Free Circular designs

Here’s another of the series of circular designs that I’ve been working on. I particularly like this one – I made a little bag with it and I have to say it looks very nice. As always, the pattern includes an appliqueed circular background to the flower, but you don’t have to se that if you don’t want to. The design will work just as well without it

So it’s just a colourful autumnal sort of design, for the 4×4 inch (100 mm x 100 mm) hoop. Here it is, in .pes v.6

I’m still having major problems with this new version of the blog, so I would be VERY grateful if you could let me know if you have problems with it. For example, if you can’t download the design, just let me know and I’ll send it to you directly

  1. You said you made a bag, and I realized I never shared the bag I made with one of your awesome art nouveau designs, even tho I said I would!
I initially wanted to do the applique with a color shifting sheer mesh, but didn’t like any color combo I came up with and eventually skipped it ):
vintage or antique purse frame, self drafted pattern, embroidered on a brother ult2001! (hard learned advice to anyone who has trouble working with your v.6 files, older machines probably want no higher than v.4, and Wing’s My Editor is great for changing file versions)

    here’s two photos: https://imgur.com/a/ejz3eT8

  2. Thank you for the lovely round designs – I’m thinking of putting them on cork coasters, and will let you know how that turns out. But photos will probably not be provided, as who could compare with Daniel’s bag?! The unusual and beautiful frame is stunning – perhaps from an antique velvet and/or beaded “reticule?” (SP?) Beautiful, and the embroidery design goes so well with that style. Wow.
